It's interesting to me that a coach like Johnny
Jones at UNT hasn't had some opportunities to move to a higher level league. He's recruited good talent, plays an exciting type of ball, makes a nice appearance. I don't know how old he is, but he's been at UNT for quite awhile now. Maybe he's happy where he is and doesn't want to move.

Maybe it's because he's lost 4 of his 7 home games and almost every road game to Steve who hasn't recruited enough talent to suit you, doesn't play an "exciting" type of basketball.

But he's also taken a team to the NCAA, hasn't he?

He got lucky to do it twice, which everyone at our level maybe for the most part.
I think he had a SEC offer last year? ???
He is in a hot bed of talent in the metroplex. Move the guy to another location and he may not be able to land better than the other guy talent. He lands talent better than most of the other SBC teams. Put him in the SEC, or any BCS conference, where talent is equal and getting out coached by Steve will be ever night without the talent to make up for it. Personally, I don't think he can coach. I never thought Lee could coach either at ULL. I feel like Early at ULM could coach but could never get the players the other two guys were getting.
I would not trade Steve for him.

From the limited games I've seen UNT play it seems like over the past 2 seasons he has improved as a coach on the defensive side. I notice they are running alot more motion offense. I don't know if this is attributed to adding a new assistant in the past couple of seasons or from him going out and learning something new. Defensively it seems like UNT does a better job now. This could be attributed to getting players that are buying into playing tough D. In the past his teams seemed like they played out of control but that is different now.
