Bill Belton eliminates Pitt from consideration
Shortly after decommitting from Pitt, Belton has ruled out Pitt, and is now looking at Penn State, West Virginia and Cincinnati...

Belton tells Pitt thanks but no thanks

About half of the class has waivered.
Still have a solid 10 left as of now.
Guess we'll find out signing day.

RE: Bill Belton eliminates Pitt from consideration
This is my biggest beef with all of these early commits. None of these kids know exactly what they want. They're committing to schools that they never have vitiated. Its a joke. It happens at every college. And then some had things to say because Desi Green wanted to look at other colleges. The kid was most likely going to commit to Pitt but was forced into doing so. Now that Wanny has been fired, Desi reopened his recruiting. I hope Desi gets to experience what others schools look like. My guess is that he'll end up at Pitt anyways. People just stress way too much about 17-18 year old kids.

Thats a fair opinion. I've talked to the kid a few times online and in person. He seems to be more of a Pitt lean. I could be wrong though.

Firing Wanny, hiring the guy they settled on, and losing that recruiting class...mostly to conference rivals. What a mess.

If we had kept Wanny, would it have mattered? He had brought in nice recruiting classes for the last couple of years, but what good did it do? He obviously couldn't get the best out of the heralded recruits with his stubborn archaic dinosaurish boring "play not to lose" 1970's NFL-ish ways. 03-banghead

Did I leave out any descriptions of Wanny's ways? 03-hissyfit

You got rid of him for Wanny-Lite with less recruiting.

He doesn't look like "Wanny-Lite" in the pictures I've seen. But he's not quite Ralph Freidgen or Mark Mangino either 03-lmfao

OK. He's a jumbo Wanny that can't recruit. Is that better?

Looks like Belton ruled out UC after Poteat committed there. UC has more pressing needs than running back...

Belton would make about 5 RB/WR who are 5'9" or less in this clase for UC. Team Gnome.

I wanted that Desimon Green DE.

Desi is a beast. He played WR in the Chesapeake Bowl yesterday. He's an athletic freak. The more and more he plays, the more and more I think he'll be a TE.
