Illinois vs. Baylor
Illinois leads 24-7 late in the 3rd quarter. It's not surprising that this is the first post about the game. However, if the score was reversed there would be a thread with 50 posts by now mocking Illinois and the Big Ten.

Just sayin'

I always want NIU's competition to win...When not playing NIU!
It is a good way to help the Huskies look good.

Question... Did Illinois play like this against Fresno St and the Bulldogs were just better? Or did Illinois just not show up like this against Fresno St?

Illinois didn't show up the first half, got way behind, then dominated much of the late parts of the game but just couldn't quite catch back up.

EDIT: Fresno played really well the first 10-15 minutes, all credit to them on that. They were ready to go.

That's a question for UIHuskie...I think most of us were wiping our tears away from the MACC game disaster 03-weeping

Ooops...here comes Baylor 24-14

Edit: He beat me to it

By the way, it's not over yet...lead is down to 24-14 and with the Zooker at the helm, this ship could sink at any time.

Important win for Ron Zook. He needed that for a lot of reasons. It would be nice to see that program finally get its act together and gain footing in the top 25. No reason why both Northwestern and Illinois can't routinenly live in the range of 4th or 5th best team in the Big 10.

I only turned on this game to enjoy seeing Illinois get their butts handed to them. Sadly this is not the case. If Illini do win this game, living here in Central Illinois is going to be like living in Hell for the next few days.

Illinois is winning mostly because of Baylor mistakes - fumbles/turnovers. So Baylor is giving the game to them.

LOL. Did you miss the fact that Illinois has run for over 300 yards and completely dominated the line of scrimmage on both sides? The Illinois defense dominated the first half, Baylor can't block them.

They won because they were clearly the better team. Baylor didn't need to screw up for Illinois to win, they are the far better team based on what I saw this afternoon.

I'm perfectly happy with 7-6 after the garbage I've put up with for most of the past decade.

I'll take my bowl win and like it.

It was a good win -- especially for how stupidly chippy the Baylor players were all game! It was sweet to see Illinois score late!!! ha ha
