Speaking of the weather. How bout after a cold December in Pittsburgh it'll be mid 50's with the possibility of rain. The Winter Classic may be Postponed till Sunday.

The field should be fine by game day. The weather better too.

True, but even us Northeasterns would not have been able to play or attend the game during the blizzard. Even the Eagles & Vikings got canceled.

RE: Pinstripe Bowl digging out
I've sat through more than one game in a blizzard. Although not quite to this degree. But I remember the 1987 Sun Bowl. For a good bit of the game, you could barely see the field, much less the players...

In the Midwest, the only way a game gets canceled is if a roof collapses for an INDOOR game. That being said, I've driven in Philly in the snow and with the types of drivers that live there, it would've been more pleasant to drive through a snowstorm in Hades.

I'd venture to say that if the Jets or Giants were home on Sunday and playing the night game there's no way the game coulda been played. People should not have been out on the roads at that point around here. The storm really was that bad. I personally agree with Governor Rendell on this country becoming wussified, but postponing the game to Tuesday was the right thing to do.

What if the Packers had postponed the Ice Bowl because it was -13°F?

New York City was still plowing out streets in 4 of the 5 boroughs today. Most of them must have been clearing out Yankee stadium for the football game and Time Square in Manhattan for the New Years Eve celebration.
