RE: Champs Sports Bowl on a Tuesday at 6:30
My solution is a new bowl all together, because I agree the Champs will always play second fiddle to Capital One. Either an existing New Years Bowl or a brand new bowl with a big time sponsor in a big time spot either along the east coast or split down the middle like Texas to play the Pac 10 #2.
I like the idea of a Pac 10 #2 played in Dallas/Houston on New Years.......but we as a conference have to prove we can travel. That will take awhile....unless we get Houston to go with TCU, WVU, UL, and other well traveling Big East programs.
Maybe if a BEN and a Pac 12 Network were to collaborate on Fox or Comcast, the new bowl featuring #2/3 from each of the conferences to be on New Years Day on Fox or NBC in Dallas or Houston.
Would be some interesting new matchups that would strengthen the Big East and Pac 10 nationally even more. Go ahead and schedule some regular season matchups as well for the shared network.....But as I write this I am thinking if Pac 12/BE shared a network then they'd go for the regular season scheduling partnership over the bowl alliance. What do you all think?

I like the idea of trying to match our #2 against the PacTen #2 as well, since both of us lack a good bowl for our #2.
But i don't think it can be at a neutral site like Dallas, because there just won't be any local interest there.
It would probably have to be in California, maybe an upgraded Holiday Bowl willing to pay $3 milllion per team to match both conference's #2. I imagine Big East fans would be more than willing to travel to sunny SoCal in January for a big game.

I'd do that as well.
Maybe a new bowl in LA's new NFL stadium

I did say IF. However, I kind of expected Mullen's offense to fold under pressure. That's been WVU's game plan offensively under Mullen, with Dave Johnson's O-line giving way under the defensive pressure...
But them days is over. There's a new Sheriff in town, and a preview of the new Mountaineer offense is tonight @ 9:15. WVU gets to keep the old defense too...
