Morehead State
This game is a great test to simulate MAC play. Morehead State has not lost at home since Kent State won there last year. The big man Faried is obviously a challenge. I would expect him to have a huge game against whoever is playing alongside Greene, but that does not necessarily mean a Kent State loss. Faried had 12 and 15 last year, but Morehead State shot terribly from the perimeter. Faried also had 5 turnovers in that game.
It is important to note playing twice in three days, Morehead State earlier this year lost by 6 to Florida and gave Ohio State one of their tougher halves before the Buckeyes pulled away. Against Florida, Faried dominated the bigs that dominated KSU, but Morehead State never really had a chance to win after trailing big at half. Against Ohio State, they forced 16 turnovers, so the defense could give KSU fits.
Looking at the team stats, they don't have one guy who takes care of the ball really well, so KSU should be able to create turnovers. The big guys convert in the paint but can't shoot free throws, so KSU should not be shy about using Nealy, Manns and others not named Greene to foul a lot.
This is a game that won't make any waves as far as RPI goes, but it would be a good road win to get leading into those looming trips to Akron, OU and Buffalo.

They have talent like a lot of MAC teams but not great depth. Therein should be our advantage, but we certainly need our guards to have solid games. It will be man-the-lifeboats inside, though. Faried is a man among boys in almost every game he plays.
Faried can "get his". As long as we play good defense, forcing tough shots, and don't panic if we fall behind, we will be there at the end.
JUST WIN BABY!

RE: Morehead State
This game really worries me because Faried will probably be the toughest one on one match-up Greene will have all year. As long as he isn't in foul trouble you can bet Morehead will leave him on Greene all night. It is no coincidence that Jared Sullinger had one of his worst games against Morehead. Someone else is going to have to step up in a big way and without Guyton that is a concern.
With that said this could be a huge game for Greene's future. Whenever Faried steps on the court NBA scouts are sure to follow so if Greene has a big day he might be able to catch the attention of a few scouts.

Channelsurfing not looking good. Guess it will be the talk of Akron for this one.
A fast start would be nice and some good three point shooting on the road wouldn't hurt. A few predictions:
1) Faried 18 points, 12 rebounds
2) Greene 16 points, 8 rebounds
3) Sherman 22 points
4) Nealy and Manns combine for 20 boards
5) Kent wins 68-59
6) If number four and five happen I'm buying rounds at previous to James Madison.

With the exception of Holt's shooting our offense looks terrible!
Does anyone know why Nealy isn't playing?

Great question on Nealy. Is he hurting that bad? If so, thats a problem. Same thing with Leonard really. I am hoping that the "rotation" gets figured out soon. With or without Guyton, who is a guard anyway, at some point you have to decide on minutes for Nealy, Johnson (who started), Leonard and maybe even Henniger.
Anyway, I hope Moorehead cools off from deep and Greene gets going. A bird told me he will finish with 14....lets see.

Why is Johnson "guarding" Faried?

On a positive (or two) Porrini is tough as heck and Holt is looking good. Faried is waxing our you know you what.
