UC moving up in coaches’ poll
UC moving up in coaches’ poll

The 12-0 Bearcats still aren’t ranked, but they did get a little more recognition today in the latest ESPN/USA Today coaches poll, receiving 24 votes that would put them at No. 32. They received only vote from the coaches last week.

I think the fact that we go 10 deep and have 4 or 5 or more scoring options makes this a dangerous team.

I really can't wait to play the better teams to get a measure of how good this team can be.

It will take a little while I expect the game against Nova to be ugly. First real game against a good team, will probably be a blood bath. We'll get to see how they react to, most likely, thier first loss.

Nova isn't that good. Neither Fisher nor Wayns can shoot from three. Stokes is really their only weapon from their. Yarou is their only good big man and I think Yancy is better. Limit Fisher's and Wayn's penetration and there is no reason that UC can't win that game.

Three days after the we crush XU.
Away game.
Tough individual matchups.
Seasoned point.

They do play Rutgers & USF before us.

I can except a loss at Nova. I mean, not many teams win there, even really good teams. I doubt it'll be a blood bath though. Maybe a 71-62 loss. But we'll see.

I'm expecting over confidence, then panic, when they realize they aren't playing the little sisters of the poor anymore. I don't think it would be a bad thing if we do lose that game, it would be a valuable learning expierence this team hasn't had yet. They can either use it as an excuse to tank it, or use it as a tool to adjust and improve.

What worries me is Cronin doesn't have a good track record of getting his teams back on track when things don't work out perfectly.

RE: UC moving up in coaches’ poll
We never play well the game after X. Combine that with it being a road game against a good team, and that one could be ugly. I think we'll know what we got by the end of January though.
