The Christmas Message
Fellow members and friends of the Trojan Empire:

I would like to extend my Christmas wishes to you and your families this season. As 2010 is coming to an end soon, we look back at the people and events which made things a great time to be a UALR fan. From Alex Garcia-Mendoza's 3/4 length buzzer-beater to defeat ASU at home in January, Kim Sitzmann leading the Lady Trojans to their 1st ever NCAA Tournament victory in March, UALR Baseball's 1st winning season since 2003, to our mens XC team's 4th Sun Belt title, it was indeed a great time to be a Trojan supporter. Even the Brandon Nichols' never-ending fight with Stage IV Lymphoma had many of us interested until he passed on quietly with his mother by his side days before Christmas. His dedication and positive attitude should serve as an inspiration to those who loved him. His fight reminded me of Jim Valvano, whose words still ring clear and true today: "Don't give up...don't ever give up."

As I close out this message, I would encourage one and all to enjoy the live God has granted each of us. Celebrate each day as if it were your last, for you'll never know what the future holds. Give it your best every day that you're on the job; take care of those closest to you; and finally...SUPPORT UALR ATHLETICS!!!! On behalf of my family, I'd like to wish you, the Trojan Empire, a blessed Merry Christmas and a joyous 2010. See you in 2011...BURN THE HORSE!!!!04-cheers04-cheers04-cheers

Amen Curtis, keep on dancing. We need you. You're the best, and you probably see more Trojan sporting events than most of us put together. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
