He's hit a few in recent games against inferior competition, but take a look at his career 3-point shooting %. It is embarassingly low for a guy who started as a freshman and has sufficient experience to be a major contributor by his senior year. The entire senior class, (Davis, Wilks, Biggie, Mitchell (long gone) and Bishop) has given us very little over their time here. That said, conference championships and NCAA teams need seniors and senior leadership, so I am hoping that Bishop, Davis and Wilks can give us some of that leadership. But none of them appear to have leadership qualities.

I'm not saying Larry Davis is a great player, but I think you understate him. And I don't remember him starting much his freshman year, that would have been Marvin Gentry or Deonta Vaughn. I thought LD had a couple of good games his sophomore year where it looked like the game was slowing down for him, then he hurt his ankle. I believe that last year his development was retarded by having Vaughn and Stephenson taking bunches of his minutes.

To me, he looks like a guy who has some talent, but tries way too hard, has his mind going faster than his body, and the game is still (unfortunately) too fast for him. I think he will get better the more minutes he logs this year.
