Solo showed me a few new good things
tonight. He always tries to drive the lane when possible, but many times goes too far and gets hung up and loses the ball if he doesn't get a foul called. But tonight I recall one incident where he drove in, and pulled up about five or six free from the basket and made the shot. That's something Stevie Moore never learned. He tried to take it to the trees and wasn't very successful much of the time. If Solo can get into the paint and make that little soft jumper, he won't get fouled as much, but he'll make more shots from the floor. He also seemed much more inclined to pass the ball. If he will let the game come to him and not force it, he has the ability to be a really good player. He doesn't always have to be the high scorer. He can do other things to help the team win. And he'll still get his points. So kudos to Solo. Keep it up.

7 assists in 28 minutes for a 2 guard that doesn't pass the ball. Not too shabby.

It helps when you pass the ball to someone who can make the shot. I've seen a lot of passes to players who should score, and they fumble the ball and don't get the shot off. There's an element of luck in the "Assist" column. But 7 assists for any guard is a really good night.
