A relevant question would be, assuming Matt
could get more minutes, where would they come from. Well let's look at D'Andre's stats last night. He played 20 minutes. 2-6 from the field, 4 points. 0-2 from the arc. 3 turnovers and 0 assists. Now there is no doubt in my mind and probably some of yours, that given that amount of playing time, Matt could have far outdistanced those stats. Chucky played a nice game, but he had either one or no assists. So what would it have hurt to play Chucky 25 minutes, D'Andre 10, based upon his production, and give those other minutes to Matt who would more than likely outperform D'Andre at least. Just food for thought.01-lauramac2

jerry if we were playing fanacy league then stats would be all that counts but you need a pg on the floor and they may not stuff the stat sheet.

Either Williams or Chucky will be on the floor 90% of the time, and Solo in the few minutes one of them isn't. If Chucky were not as good at the 3-point shot as he has been, or if Solo's % had not improved this year, I figure III would be getting more minutes.

Well put. We need a point guard to run the team. Don't remember Graber's stats being earth-shattering. He was simply a winner.

Matt really played well at the point in the second half, didn't he. That's about all I got to see, but he was running the point for quite awhile. Even Tucker commented on it. They even ran a weave for awhile. I don't recall us ever doing that. Am I forgetting? I really feel that was the first time I ever saw us do that. I liked it.04-cheers

Honestly, I did not see him run the point for very long. When Steve cleared his bench he had a crazy lineup out there- Tramar, Marlo, Gus, Courtney, and Matt. We won't ever see that again unless we're up by 30 again later in the year. But obviously Matt was the only player who could handle the ball. I'm glad Steve got Marlo and Gus in there but it was a bizarre combination of players.

Actually there was a time when Matt was running the point some, and Solo was on the wing. I believe either Chucky or D'Andre was also in there so they sort of reversed roles. Anyway, it was good to see all the kids get some quality minutes. It was probably the best game of the year to watch, and I had to miss most of it. We'll just have to keep doing it.04-cheers

In this game it didn't matter.

Clearly it didn't. Steve was just trying to get some of the kids some playing time, and gave Solo and Chucky some time "off".
