Pretty sad when Stetson is looking better
than we are. They have beaten Wake Forest and gave Rice a darn good game today before losing by a few points. So we think getting out of the TAAC was an upgrade? Not so sure anymore. Maybe we need to get back into the Atlantic Sun. That's one we haven't talked about moving to.04-cheers

The Atlantic Sun is an amazing conference. It just keeps rising from the dead despite constantly losing teams. Just adds new ones. And the ones that leave are never heard from again- see UALR, GaSouthern, College of Charleston, Samford, Mercer, Tx-SA, etc. I think all those teams went to the NCAA's in the TAAC/Atlantic Sun, and some like C of C and UALR had success. Sometimes the grass is always greener. Belmont is better than anyone in the ASun so I assume its time for them to move to the Belt or another "better" conference and then disappear into the sunset.

I think College of Charleston has done fairly well in the past few years, haven't they? I think Bobby Cremins is their head coach now.04-cheers

No doubt. But they went to the NCAA tournament from the Atlantic Sun in 1994, 1997, 1998, and 1999. Haven't been back since they moved to the Southern Conference. They have a great coach, a beautiful new facility, and signed a top 50 player for next season. So they may be back. But like us, they have discovered it is a lot tougher to make the tournament when you move to a higher rated conference.

The College of Charleston is in the Southern Conference. A nice step up from the Atlantic Sun, except for a few teams like Belmont.

RE: Pretty sad when Stetson is looking better
Stetson has had a couple of pretty fair seasons in recent years, also. (Not to mention one of the most unique mascots in the country.)
