scouting Akron
They have a win over Youngstown and Detroit. A narrow loss to UIC, which beat Illinois. Stayed within 10 at Minnesota.

Expect them to start 7-0, 6-8, 6-4 on the front line. They can bring 6-10 off the bench, so they have some size. However, they are minus 5 in rebounding. They shoot OK, not great (42% and 33%), and their defense is OK, also (43% and 31.5%). They take good care of the ball; positive A/TO.

Cvetonovic (Ray will have fun with that one) at 6-8 and McClanahan at 6-4 are their main shooters. However, once again we are faced with a forward being their main offensive threat. Do we have an answer?

This is a game we can win.

This and all the games out there are 50/50 games that define a season. Win your share of 50/50 games and you get 43 wins in 2 seasons.

If we only count D1 games, it wouldn't total 43 in two seasons, would it?04-cheers

Is their 7 footer a Tony Jones or Alex Korolev, or a really tough big man?
We had better try and keep him away from the boards.04-cheers

It might make sense to start Marlo at center and let him try to pull their center away from the basket. I know Marlo can hit from the outside, at least in practice. Hasn't shown much in a game. In general, I'd like to see Derek start at center and maybe have Marlo at the 4. If Kibi moved to the 3, we'd have a pretty good sized front line. Of course, we'd lose Alex's outside shooting. Actually, I'm glad I'm not the coach and don't have to worry about it. Will be interesting to see if we go with a bigger line-up or try to play small ball tonight.
