An apology
Fans of the Trojan Empire, Gary Hogan and the Athletic Staff:

I'd like to apologize to one and all for my actions earlier this evening. It was my fault for not standing up immediately when "Shout" was played. I accept full responsibility and I humbly apologize. Fans have asked me about the lack of camera time recently and I've told them that it was no big deal whatsoever. It really doesn't matter how much or little camera time I receive during the full time out in the 2nd half. Once again, I humbly apologize for that lapse of immaturity on my part and that you would forgive me. Such actions would never happen again. Thank you for your attention.

Sincerely,

Curtis Williams
UALR Fan since 1990

It seems to me that an apology of a long time faithful fan like Curtis is not, and never will be, necessary. What might be appropriate however, would be an apology from the athletic department for how they have treated this longtime loyal fan on occassion. Fans like Curtis are the lifeblood of any program, whether the bean counters realize it or not.

You have absolutely no reason to apologize. You have been getting up and doing your thing and the camera man has been totally ignoring you.
I'd be upset too if I had done what you've done for our program the past twenty years by creating excitement and entertainment that most of us could never do. Thank you for your loyalty to our program, and shame on our program for allowing this travesty to occur.01-lauramac2

RE: An apology
(I hope Curtis will take this is the very most positive sense, because that is how it is meant.) Years ago, I got to see Mike the Tiger on the LSU campus. His is an honored position (even if he is in a cage). Curtis is our Mike the Tiger. A real treasure, and the closest thing we have to a symbol of the program.

Thank you, folks! I'm humbled and honored by your support. To God be the glory...always!
