scoring going to come from? We lose Solo, Alex and Matt. I was counting on Reggie Sonnier to be an outside shooter next year, but now he's gone. None of our signees are really perimeter shooters. Of course we still have three scholarships left to give. I would suggest trying to find a great shooter or two, whether they can play defense or not.
Otherwise, even with WN coming in, we'll have the same problems we've always had. Chucky will not beat you from the perimeter. His stats are pretty good right now, but he's not shooting a lot of 3's. He'll score points, but you need that pure shooter, and we don't have one coming back, and haven't signed one yet. If we could find a Brandon Freeman in the juco ranks that would be great, but we needed to sign that type of player early because unfortunately he probably won't be available for us to sign in the spring signing.04-cheers

I might have to disagree with that statement. He's shot the three pretty well so far. I wouldn't label him as a "pure shooter", but he's not bad. I've seen guys with smoother shot, but what counts is putting it in the hole. He's done a pretty good job thus far.

I'm sure you remember the great St. Louis Cardinal outfielder, Stan "The Man" Musial don't you? His batting stance looked like a cord screw. When he came up, some of the experts said "he'll never hit unless he changes that stance." He didn't change it, and he's a Hall of Famer.

Another recent example, some former coach, who later became God to some Arkansans, said that Gus Malzhan's offense wouldn't work in the SEC.

I believe Chucky Guy will be a damn good player here. And I don't mind seeing him put up the three.

I agree that Chucky will be a very good player here. And I don't mind seeing him put it up either. But we still need at least one more pure shooter on the floor to be competitive. I think I did say he'd be a good scorer, but I don't believe he's a great 3 point shooter. Good. Maybe.
Great? That remains to be seen. I'd feel more comfortable if we had a player who could start next season at one of the three guard spots who could really light it up. I don't care if he's 5' tall or 6'10". Just that great shooter. That might be all he can do, but I'll take it.04-cheers
