Is there anyone that watched the Union hockey game last night able to tell me how bad the play was at the end of the game when Witkowski picked up the penalty in front of our goal?

I thought that the call was a bit "cheap" considering that the Union player was crashing our goal at the time. A couple in our group, thought that it was a "stupid thing for Witkowski to do". I'd like another independent thought on the call.

I thought it shouldn't have been called, it was just a shove and a message to Union for messing with Kuhn after he snapped up the puck and stopped play, lame penalty but in college they will call that.

That happened right in front of me and I thought it was a legit call and not a smart thing for Witkowski to do - 50/50 chance of that getting called. It looked to me like he came in after the whistle and gave they guy a shove. Had he been engaged with they guy at the whistle then gave him the shove it's probably overlooked.

The more I think about it, the more that I hate that call, they're making players be "Stepford" too much these days. He was fired up and protecting his goalie, just separate and warn, no reason for a late penalty.

So it wasn't clear cut. I'm a bit tough on the refs when it comes to Bronco sports, so I appreciate your opinions.

We won the game, I just hate however to think that the Bronco hockey team will get a "reputation" for infractions like this. I've seen stupid in our defensemen to many times in the past, and I don't want to see it now.
