Pressure to win at the D1 level has to be immense.
It obviously causes coaches to try and bend the rules in order to compete and keep their jobs. It seem as though every day something comes up about coaches breaking the rules. Pearl is only the tip of the iceberg. I realize that the rules are made to protect the best interest of the athletes and help to level the playing field, but if you think the field is level, let UALR try and recruit against Duke or Kansas, so they probably need to eliminate a lot of nitpicking rules and concentrate on large things. I would imagine some rules broken are not even knowingly broken by some coaches. I don't know how they keep up with them anyway.

No pressure here to win. Pearl wouldn't even have to cheat here.
