Since Troy left the A-Sun in 2005 they have failed to reach the NCAA Tournament, and have 1 NIT appearance. Now in their 7th year removed from the A-SUN they are heading to a 1-9 record as Belmont lays the wood to them (Belmont 64, Troy 37 ---13:33 left).

Now I know they left for understandable football reasons. However, it's always fun to wonder if they would have stayed. Are they truly better off in the Sun Belt in basketball?

I would say no they are not better off. The Sun Belt at one time was a very good bb league. UAB, VCU, ODU, Wky, USF, SoAla, JU were all pretty decent programs and most have gone on to greater heights.

Don't look now, but UCF is now 10-0.

UCF clearly made the best choice getting into C-USA. Glad to see them doing well.
