I'm proud of Pirate fans and here is why
I put a Bowl Bus together every year we go. Well this year with the Bowl so close it has been hard to fill the bus. So I asked if any Pirate would pay for a ride for a Wounded Warriors from Camp Lejeune to go. Well not only did the Pirates stepped up. We now need a bigger bus.

So...is this something that ECU brought to the FBS, too? Along with the third down bell and the forward pass and goal posts behind endzone and hard helmets? Fans that'll travel 5 hours to a football game?

I'm not...I'm not following. This is another one of your threads where I'm not sure what the proper reaction is.

He's talking about a large group of fans buying tickets so wounded soldiers can attend the bowl game. Def something to be proud of

Why do the Knights always want to say something smart. I hope the BE takes you cause I hate being in the same Conference with you. I'm very proud of how the Pirates stood up. So don't be jealous.

It's very fortunate there are pirate fans supporting this. It's unfortunate you are touting this on the Big East Expansion board. You did not even post this on the CUSA board. Please don't turn this good deed into fodder.

This is a good deed and this is the time of year we especially need to hear about these kinds of things. I am proud as a pirate of this endeavor, but more proud because this sort of thing does reflect on what makes America great!

Dude, shut-up! Most ECU fans already knew about this, as we raised the money and Whitey is mainly on the BYB and not CUSAbbs. We've always supported the troops and is something the ECU does better than most. Something that should get as much press as possible, getting a bus and tickets for troops that have been injuried in the line of duty. All you can do is piss all over it, because we did post this on CUSAbbs first. Shame, shame, shame!!!!04-chairshot

One, don't tell people to shut up. Two, my point was that this thread was likely just used as fodder to make ECU look good to Big East POSTERS.

This is something Whitey decided to try and do,asked us Pirate fans to help make it happen, we have, to the point with a little more we could send a second bus. This is something to be proud of, the fact that your crying to dicredit this as just an enfort to look good to BE posters is not only sad, it show that you'll go to no end to try and tare down everything that ECU fans do that reflects good on ECU is my point. Your bashing this because whitey posted it hear, well he posted it first on BYB and then here. You couldv'e just said good job ECU, but that wouldn't in your eyes help UCF, giving ECU props for a great thing the fans did own their own without ECU offically support or pushing it. Who care (other than you) where whitey choice to post this news. Again, this was done by us fans, not ECU itself, fans bought the tickets and gave money for gas and such. Pirate fans did this on our own and you should've just said good job and been done with it.

Lets be honest. Whitey posted it to stroke ECU's ego. If UCF had posted the same thing, we would be getting blasted by you for trying to use it to improve our image with BE posters. But we don't have to do it on the boards, we've done it on the field and court this year.

There's no need for me to start a thread about how UCF fans have bought tickets for hundreds of children at the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital so the children and their families can enjoy a football game on New Year's Eve. (Did I say that out loud? 03-shhhh) We know what we are doing is a good deed for the children and families and there's no reason to blast it all over the board trying to seek the BE posters' praise.
