Pitt coach Jeff Hafley to Rutgers
One of the best moves of the offseason. Just a tremendous addition for Rutgers.

RE: Pitt coach Jeff Hafley to Rutgers
we are closing in on one of the best recruiting classes ever. Savon Huggins Miles Shuler Sheldon Royster Jose Matias all 40 + offer guys who we are very close to getting and if Hafley can convince some Pitt guys like Issaka and nova to shift. Then man I'm going to be excited to watch this coaching staff misuse all that talent.

Sounds like what we've been watching the past 6 years. Talent with no one to tell/show them how to use it.

Yeah, like Rutgers misused Kenny Britt and Anthony Davis. Both were all-conference, borderline all-american players in college. Every other recruit on the team was a 2 or 3*.

Where did you see this posted? There is nothing on the Rutgers f/b web page about this. Besides being a good recruiter, what position does he coach? We sure need an offensive & a defensive coordinator.

How about Savage? was he a 2 or 3 star recruit? Art Forst? There is no way you can twist a 4-8 record with this roster to be anything other than coaching.

It's on the recruiting websites. He coached DBs at Pitt.

As great as a recruiter Hafley is I hope they keep him away from the football field. I've seen those secondaries at Pitt and I just gotta say .

It was terrible, but teams have down years. RU will make changes like anyone else and get back on track.
And FWIW, I said Rutgers wouldn't win another game after LeGrand got hurt.

Young team with a lot underclassmen that was 2 interceptions away from a 6 and 6 season and a possible 6th bowl in a row. No shame for Rutgers this year. I think Schiano used the wildcat to often early in the season but I guess he knew he didn't have a strong running game at that point. The future is bright for Rutgers. They are filled with a lot of young talent. The key is to rebound with a solid season after having a disappointing season where you let the close ones slip away. And yes I know Pitt and WV pounded Rutgers. No excuses here on those games but next year brings 12 more chances to win. You don't want to sit on the bottom for along time like Cuse and L'ville did suffering through their prior coaching situations. WE'LL BE BACK!!!!!!!!

RE: Pitt coach Jeff Hafley to Rutgers
Interesting post Panite, which brings up a point: Why is it that it's been 4 years since 2006, with Leonard and Rice, and RU hasn't been able to rebuild its running game? And with that, what gives you hope that one will return anytime soon?

Huggins looks like the real deal, dude. Of course, it's a big jump from high school football to major college football. We'll find out for sure shortly...

Oh Believe me I know. But I'm more worried about our current Oline making the jump from highschool football to major college football than I am of Huggins.

That's a legitimate concern. The OL is where the offense starts. Without one you're screwed...

Rutgers lost 4 games by a total of 11 points (N. Carolina 4 pts, Tulane 3 pts, Syracuse 3 pts and S. Florida 1 pt. They could have been 8-4 with a little better execution. Two of those loses I blame on the coaches (Syracuse & S. Flordia). However, should have, could have, doesn't count. They just didn't get the job done this year.

But RU also won 3 close games by FIU (by 5), Army (by 3) and UConn (by 3). So RU could also have been 1-11 with some bad luck in those 3 close wins. It goes both ways. Better luck next year. Great to hear the good news on LeGrand
