Spoiler Alert, that isn't the case anymore! 03-wink
(I went to school in 2001 and it was a pretty big problem then....but the people with UF/FSU/Miami shirts on around campus has gone down to almost nothing IMO).

I agree that "butts in seats" is nothing compared to TV sets.

I agree again 03-wink. Thats' why I would support ECU in the Big East too as Team #11.

Glad I could appease you. Although I don't think it's butts vs. tv sets. You guys don't have either. What Orlando does have is the ability to put advertising in front of more people. It doesn't actually guarantee it will be on someone's tv set. That still depends on whether people are actually watching. Such is the lifestyle of Vegas-like conference honchos though and the odds may be tempting for those BE high rollers. By the way, you might want to check with some of your UCF friends on your spoiler alert. From everything I've heard it is still a huge problem at UCF. The Miami game from last year comes to mind as the topic passionate UCF fans were melting down about on your boards.

Same thing happens at ECU with UNC and NC State. It happens at USF with UF/Miami/FSU. Its a problem we all face. I was at the FSU/Miami game in Miami 5 or 6 years ago (when they were both good) and there were as many Miami fans in the student section with FSU IDs as there were FSU students.

Also, ECU attendance has only been significantly more than UCFs in 2010. As recently as 2007 UCF had a larger attendance than ECU.

Well due to the fact our stadium seated 7,000 less until this year it would only make sense that we could not exceed you by that much prior to this year. The true measure to look at is % of attendance in relation to capacity....In that measue we have well exceeded UCF over the years except for a blip in 2007. Upon closer review the reason for the blip in 2007 is that was the year you opened your new stadium.

You're kidding right? When I was in school in the late 80s we had a problem with a decent number of people wearing UNC apparel on campus. Never any NC State stuff that I saw. 25 years later and you might find a stray UNC shirt but it really has faded away. Still no NCSU stuff. Let's not try to act like we have the same issue you guys have right now. We fought that battle decades ago. I'm not slamming you. I know how embarrassing it was and would never chastise someone for the same problems we had to deal with. It sucks for you but you'll overcome it...just will take a very long time.

Well, until 2010 our stadium had 2,000 less seats the UCF. You have 45k seat we had 43k until this and in the first year we're selling it out. As to the "market" issue yes, your in a big market, though you don't bring it right now, not to say you couldn't but, right now you don't deliver the Orlando market. As for ECU yes, where in a much smaller market, but to be fair we draw from a bigger area geographicly and much more than the officail market we are put into, which is decided by coverage of local tv and has nothing to with where we draw viewers from. IMO, if people would take the time and do a little home work they would that ECU's main area that we draw viewer from is the entire State east of I-95, still not 2 million people but, it's over 1.2 million and that not that bad.
