Believe it or not
Regardless of the problems the lady Trojans had recently in their 5 losses, If they beat Rice on Saturday their record will be the same as it was last year after 10 games. (5-5). Of course they went on to win the next 19 games but last night they played like last years team (IMO)

That is hard to believe. Last night proved my point that we are a very average team without Chas. With her we are pretty darn good. Hard for me to believe there is a women's player in the country, much better than her.

Yes, very average without her.

I was thinking about the game last night, and all of a sudden I had the realization as to why our men's program hasn't been what we wanted.
What have we been missing. Why don't the pieces fit together. The women have a point guard who distributes the ball well and plays good defense, and will shoot the ball when necessary. They have a two guard who is a defensive stopper. Good free throw shooter. A three guard or small forward who is a three point threat. A big five who can rebound and score inside. And here's the piece we've been missing. A four who can consistently take the ball into the lane and score from 10-15 feet. Who is quick enough to get himself open and who can also rebound. Shane Edwards was probably the closest thing we had to this, and even he couldn't dominate anywhere near what Chas does. When we start getting all those pieces in place, and the coaches allow them to play their game, we'll have a winning program. Until then, we'll stay decent, but not really good.04-cheers

Chas is an All-American talent on the women's side. It won't ever happen on the men's side unless a player just falls in our laps. Maybe Will Neighbour is the one. But, honestly, as high as I am on him I doubt he'll be an All-American on the national level. Chas would have been if not for her early season troubles- Now that's just a little more for her to overcome to get the national recognition she deserves.

The season is still fairly young. I think she has enough games left, and if she plays like she did last night, she might still make it. I believe she was averaging around 19 points a game, and with 28 last night, that will move it up a little. I haven't checked the stats yet. But if she can keep her emotions down, I don't doubt she'll get some national recognition.04-cheers
