ETSU and Kennesaw "bad wins" for their coach
Kennesaw winning vs. Georgia Tech and ETSU winning at Dayton might come back to haunt their respective coaches.

It proves they have teams full of talent. The ETSU win was a bigger national win, but KSU's was big on their scale as well.

I bring this up because it reminds me of Mercer's past. A road win against then #18 ranked Southern Cal. Which was then followed up with SEVERAL losses to weak teams. Sound familiar Kennesaw fans?

These wins show the administration, boosters, fans, everyone what that team is capable of. The former Mercer coaches did not survive that season with the big win. The final inexplicable loss was to USC Upstate... sound familiar ETSU fans?

RE: ETSU and Kennesaw "bad wins" for their coach
The KSU fans feel the pain as well, however I don't think Tony is going anywhere after this season unless we lose at Home to Mercer bad, and don't make the conference tourney. Even then I don't know if the Athletic Department in its current shape does anything. We have an interim AD who is still the head softball coach. Even with the old AD hanging around as an advisor I don't think we will do a coaching change till after we find a new AD. So unless this season was just atrocious Ingle is here to stay.

Why is Mercer the deciding factor? Do you feel insulted by this thread and that's a jab back? The comparison to Mercer's 07-08 season is eerie. A 15ish point win over major program followed by 5 losses with few moments of competitive play.

Gold -- Dayton is a quality program that any team in the ASUN wishes they could be. Also this year they're 6-2 with a win over Ole Miss. That was far from a predictable win against their home OOC win streak.

It is by no means a jab at Mercer or this thread it is more a statement about the priority of the KSU athletic department. One of the major priorities being that they want an instate rival, and they want it to bolster support for the program. Last year they were pretty successful at getting students to buy into the rivalry with Mercer idea, and the atmosphere was phenomenal in the convocation center for that game. It will be an even bigger crowd this year. Everyone who went to the game wears their "Beat Mercer" shirts with pride and there is still talk about the energy that there was at that game. Now the Tech win has overtaken it in excitement, but people are still looking forward to that one game. There are plenty of people that don't give a **** about the program as a whole but are going to be at that Mercer game. I guess what I am saying in a very long winded way is that the Mercer game is the Second most important game on our schedule behind GT. Ingle doesn't need to win it but he has to stay in it to win over the fans. He cant be blown out because our already poor school spirit can't handle that kind of blow. So I guess this is a polite way of saying you are good enough to be considered a rival and worthy of being hated yet respected.

I understand now...I took it the wrong way, sorry. You're definitely right about the great games lately with KSU/Mercer. I love the fact that the atmosphere has been so great. It's the way it should be for the in state rivalry and hopefully it stays that way.

Mercer,

It was predictable that ETSU got embarrassed by Upstate the very next game. Dayton has talent this season....but they are NOT a good team. I assure you.

Well Bartow got a big win today @ Miss State making his job more than safe for the moment. However, Kennesaw gave SIU-E their first Division I win in 10 tries this season.

Bartow's job is perfectly safe in the hands of this administration regardless of what happens this season. I assure you we are NOT a team.
