As has been posted on here several times, RPI numbers at this time of year mean little, if anything. But, that ranking sure does reflect what a road victory at a Big East school will do for you. St. Bonaventure went to NYC yesterday and got a road victory over St. John's.

Well they are starting to mean a little bit more. The problem for us is that once we get into conference play our RPI will likely go down, no matter what we do.

They are helping us. If we could somehow beat them here, it would mean a little bit.

You got that right. However, given that we have no realistic chance at an at large bid, it probably doesn't matter. We have two avenues to post season play, and two only.

1) Win the SBC tourney in Hot Springs and go to the Big Dance.
2) Win the regular season of the SBC outright (not a Divisional title) and get an automatic bid to the NIT if option #1 doesn't pan out.

That's it. Period. So other than seeding in on of those two senarios, our RPI really won't mean much of anything all season.

Well, it's sort of like the geeky kid who somehow gets the school beauty to attend a dance with him. He knows she'll never marry him, but it looks real good on his resume! Unless of course he's Bill Gates!04-cheers04-cheers04-cheers

Without just about winning out, we couldn't get an at-large. We don't play any TOP 25 type opponents.
