Joe Novak for Bowl Game
Give our ole coach one more game. Our AD should be on the phone right now with Joe. He'll coach us to a victory against Fresno!

that would be amazing considering the senior are pretty much his last recruits

Joe never quit on us. I vaguely remember him hand picking Kill because Kill was in it for the long run. Does anyone else remember something along those lines?

yes that Kill was hand picked by Novak to provide that continuity

This would be so awesome, not going to lie.

I can't see it actually happening, though.

Give him $50,000 from the buyout to coach one game.

I agree with everything you said.

I'll hold out hope that it happens though because it's what the players deserve.

if he seriously couldn't find someone good for us quick and NIU offered that, i think Novak would definitely come back for the bowl game.

not that i think that'll happen, but i honestly think he would.

Coach Novak found and chose Kill.
He chose well.
I hope he gets to chose the next FB coach.
Would be nice to see him coach the Bowl game.

Man oh man would that be awesome if it happened. How awesome would it be to lose one selfish pig, and have him replaced for one game, by everything that encompasses what NIU should be about. That would just be the best.

RE: Joe Novak for Bowl Game
Honestly, I like the idea. (but yeah, unlikely to happen)

Generally I think talk about motivation/passion/emotion are nonsense when it comes to how teams perform.

But I seriously don't expect our Huskies who've been gut-punched twice now, to be anything but flat playing for an assistant who is just biding his time before going to Minny with Kill.

Get Joe for the next couple weeks and at least the seniors might find it in them to go out strong not just for themselves (and each other) but for the guy who brought them here.

Either way, for the next two weeks, this team belongs to the seniors. They're the only leaders we've got.

I think Joe is an EXCELLENT idea. It sounded like Kill was talking to his assistants after the banquet - so I would not want to give them the pleasure. Have Joe come in and hold them to their contracts to coach these guys AND ACTUALLY GAME PLAN FOR THIS GAME. Otherwise, take some one off the ILLINI staff and have them head coach for the game. Illinois just played Fresno, so they have a game plan in place that can just be tweaked!
