I would say if we could sign Hooper Vint, to go
along with Gus and WN, it would certainly be the largest number of really tall inside players who could play that we've ever had. Jake and Too Tall fit that criteria, except Jake didn't get a senior season due to his career ending injury, which was a real shame. But other that that I can't ever recall having two kids in the 6'10" range on the team at the same time who could play well. But I do recall some 6'8" guys who were bullies inside. Jones-Jennings and Johnnie Bell. Might have been a few others a long time ago that MJS, PTJR, Mr. Mediocrity, LRTrojan and a few other long timers might recall.

Our basketball program, traditionally has been sort of like the Razorback football program. We've never had the talented tall men to compete with those better programs that had those type of players, and the Razorbacks have traditionally been weak on the defensive line, compared to the Alabamas, Auburns, LSU's and other. Their offense has always been better than their defense. This year, they were better. And will probably get better as long as Petrino stays.
That shows you the value of a top notch coach who plays an exciting style of ball. He puts together an exciting offense, and ultimately as you win, it attracts good defensive players also. And more good offensive players. Success does breed success. No doubt about it.
But that takes a major committment from the administration like, as PTJR mentioned, UNC-Charlotte and UAB. Until we get that type of committment, we'll continue to be, not a mid major, but a low major program, and that's where we are right now. I guess I wouldn't be so impatient if I was 30 years younger, but as LRTrojan has said on many occasions, we don't have that much longer to wait for a turnaround. Sad but true!
