heard this too. I suspect we will be very sorry we didn't hire Freeze. He is has a great offensive mind and is an absolute seller and front face for your program.
He is a flat out winner. We will be sorry I am afraid.

Very limited college experience with very few contacts. As bad as we were this season I don't think Freeze was who we needed....he'd have taken the job in a second, though.

some of the "good posters" that don't come round here much anymore said they "couldn't support the hiring of hugh freeze."

Didn't say he wouldn't be a good coach...just not what Memphis needed.

my prediction is hugh won't be at ASU in 5 years. He will be at a bigger job after his success at ASU. Winners don't lose. Not in their blood. Hugh is a winner.

Memphis also didn't need a coach that isolated himself off from the media and the fans.

You mean those "good posters" who left because they come here for info and all the get is bs? Or the ones that tell us it's none of our business and to just buy tickets and join the HH.

he was EXACTLY what we needed.......an enthusiastic winner that had been successfil at every position he ever held. he wasn't afraid to rattle cages to get what he wanted and wasn't going to be relegated to "knowing his role"

He can rattle all he wants but RC wasn't going to listen so it really doesn't matter.
The fact is that people are suddenly harping on Freeze. Many of these same people have spent the season bitching about the fact that Porter didn't have enough experience. Freeze has less D1 experience than Porter with fewer coaching and recruiting connections than Porter! You think PORTER had a hard time even being able to hire his own staff?!
Hell, let's just fire Porter, somehow find the money to pay both he and Tommy off, and out bid ASU for Freeze....I'm sure simply changing coaches...AGAIN...would fix EVERYTHING!
(I'd also like to point out that many of the people absolutely slamming Porter this season were the same last season screaming "Fire West and hire Porter!!")

i was one of the few (and maybe the only) that said that hiring porter would be a bad idea. i went on record as saying that hiring larry would be a bad idea and hiring freeze was the way to go.
