NIT
Back when we were in the preseason NIT, it was one loss and you're out. ASU has lost twice and still gets too more "consolation" games. Nice deal for them since they get 4 neutral court games that don't count against their schedule (maybe counts as one game). However, if they end up 0-4 it won't be such a great deal.

I really like the Preseason NIT for a couple of reasons.
1) You get four games that only count as one no matter whether you win or lose your first or even second game. This is just like all of the preseason "tournaments" that exist in abundance these days.
2) The Preseason NIT still works like a real tournament. If you win the first two, you advance to Madison Square Garden. In all of the other preseason "tournaments" the final four are predetermined regardless of the first and second round results. Therefore, VCU is going to play in the Semifinals of the Preseason NIT in Madison Square Garden rather than Wake Forest who they beat, but who would have advanced anyway in any other of these deals.

Well, ASU is now 3/4 of the way there. Pepperdine can make them a perfect 0-4, for the NIT, tomorrow night. They lost to Pacific tonight 77-70.

I used to think that Scotto was the #1 ASU basher, but that I was in the running for a close second. You are definitely challenging my position, however, I still think Scotto is in first place!

Personally I hate to see ASU getting off to such a bad start for two reasons. Number one, it brings our conference RPI down considerably, and the other is that I met Coach Brady one time after our game at ASU, and he was very nice and friendly, even though we had won the game. I'm not a ASU hater like some of us, but I guess you had some bad experiences with fans while at some of the games years ago, so that's understandable. As long as we beat them every year, they can win every other game as far as I'm concerned.
