WOW! And he is only a FRESHMAN. Things are looking up!!!
He reminds me of the kid from Davidson, Stephen Curry. I'm not saying he's going to be anywhere near that good, but his game is somewhat similar. He could very well be an all conference first teamer before his career is over at UALR.

RE: Encouraged
I was encourage by the way they did get the ball to Matt tonight. He just was not on tonight but if they will continue to get him open looks like tonight, they will start to drop in just like it finally started to do for Chastity the other night.

If that continues, Matt will not have a fair chance to break any records, but maybe that was a one game situation. With all the guards, it would have been wise to redshirt at least one of them. But right now, it looks like Matt might be the odd man out, and that's a shame with him being a senior and all he has accomplished and could still accomplish. But if we win, who can complain. Let's just see how it goes from here.
I don't see Matt figuring big in Shields plans this year. He's got to get his "pet" more minutes.

Matt got burned just like Bails and had a seat. Just the way it goes. You give up points and screen your on guys out of the way for layups and you get to think about it. It happens....

The difference is that Chas took 18 shots, and usually takes that many or more. Matt got 5. Not enough for a shooter.

I will move to the private board for my thoughts on these two.

Come on. I've seen others whom I won't name get beat just a bad and as often and they don't sit down. No. There's a different standard for Matt. It's always been that way, and always will be. And I don't think I'm the only one who sees this. I'm not even sure Steve realizes it. I'm beginning to believe it's a subconscious thing. He seems to be like some of you guys in that he focuses on Matt's deficiencies to the complete exclusion of others. One thing about being the coach. You get to make the decisions, which is the way it should be. I just don't believe Matt gets a square deal in many instances. Let's just see if this continues throughout the season.

This ain't peewee ball. This is the show and to be part of the show you have to keep winning. Steve is at a spot he has to win and he is going to play the guys he thinks can win. If a team shows up and puts a zone on us, Matt will be right in the game. If the team plays man and on offense can put it on the floor and get to the rack, well he probably is going to play less and in spots.

Whatever. No sense beating a dead horse. We'll never agree on this point. I think Matt's too good a player to be sitting on the bench, and you see him in a different light. That's allright. We all have our opinions.
I will agree with you on one point. Steve has to win this year, and he's going to go all out to do it as he sees fit. I hope we win every game. Who plays, I can't control. I just have an opinion like most of us. I'll be in my seat rooting for whomever is on the court for us. Let's just beat Oral Roberts and La Tech, and we'll all feel real good.
