I notice nobody is talking about today's games. Did everybody give up on the football season and move on to basketball?

WVU @ UofL - Louisville is trying to become bowl eligible, while WVU wants to win out...

UConn @ Syracuse - Syracuse can clinch the conference's BCS bid with a win here, and a Pitt loss. Imagine that. But first they must win a game at home. I figure the entire conference not in Syracuse is a Husky fan today. If it was a homecoming game on the road, I'd feel better about the Orange's chances...

Rutgers @ UC - Both teams need a win to keep their bowl hopes alive. Currently at 3-6, a UC loss eliminated the Bearcats from bowl consideration. A Rutgers win gets the Knights to 5-5, with one more win needed to become bowl eligible...

Pitt marched right down the field, until the Bulls stiffened in the red zone...

How do you figure?

Pitt is 1 game ahead of SU, plus Pitt has the tiebreaker.

SU has to win today to finish 5-2, and Pitt has to lose 2 more games.

The Bulls have evened it up with Pitt...

Yep. In the event of that 3 way tie, the BCS bid would go to the highest ranked team, which eliminates Pitt from the discussion. The Panthers OOC record will keep poll voters at bay. It would come down to who the voters liked more between WVU and Syracuse...

If WV wins out, SU would have to beat Boston College to stay higher ranked, IMO.

Even that may not be enough. Virginia is giving BC fits today, and if the Cavaliers pull out the win, a lot of the luster will fall off the SU-BC game...

17-10 WVU I was impressed with the WVU defense they just shutdown a powerful UofL running game. UofL put up some fight but the last few offense series for UofL weresnuffed out by that WVU defense. I wish Belalial Powell would have played all game. A classic WVU style win .

You are assuming CUSE will beat UCONN today which they won't. UCONN just need WVU to beat Pitt.

You are assuming CUSE will beat UCONN today which they won't. UCONN just need WVU to beat Pitt.

I am obviously rooting for Syracuse but yes Uconn still has the best chance at getting the BCS bid provided Pitt loses to either WVU or Cincy and Uconn runs the table. Syracuse needs WVU to beat Pitt and then hope for each team to lose a third game OR beat them in the polls. Cant have WVU beat Pitt and then lose or Pitt takes the bid. I would rather be Uconn right now then Syracuse.
