It is a really good deal for the Big East. You get the C-USA's best bowl game. We could be C-USA champs playing against the Sunbelt (maybe not even #1 Sunbelt)

yea....that sucks

It wasn't long ago when this was a matchup of ranked teams. The Memphis area may love their SEC tie in, but the game looked a little more big time when it matched up the C-USA champ vs. the MWC champ.

But is all about the money and the MWC champ usually brought flies to the bowl game and thats why they added the SEC

Ding!

Every bowl game is about $$$$$ as even the Top 10 Liberty Bowl Game (maybe the only one ever) with Louisville and Boise St didn't sellout...but bring in a local SEC team (like Miss St and Arkansas)...and HUGE crowds will follow...even though those teams aren't ranked in the Top 10...let alone in the Top 25.

It's all about selling tix.

The Liberty Bowl is actually a bit less dependent on who is playing than most of the smaller bowls, because it's a bowl with a long tradition that the Memphis area takes pride in. Local football fans will buy enough tix to ensure at least 45,000 - 50,000 are sold no matter who is playing.

But yes, obviously the SEC teams will attract the largest crowds.
