I'm going to remain somewhat optimistic and
consider today's game performance due to the grueling trip. I think we're better than we showed today, and the physical and mental fatigue played a part in so many of our players getting into foul trouble because they were just a step slower than normal.
We're coming home 1-1, which is better than some of us might have predicted, we have home games coming up, and are getting experience playing as a team. There are obviously some areas that need smoothing out, but I still think we have some good talent that will improve as the season progresses.
We do need to encourage Solo and Matt in getting open perimeter shots. I can't believe that after all these years our coaches haven't evolved and learned to implement more sophisticated offensive sets.
Maybe we should bring Wimp in as a consultant. He sure knew how to get Malik some open looks.

No need to bring in high paid consultant like Wimp. I'm sure there are a lot of high school coaches nearby who can show our coaches how to get a shooter open.

I talked with Matt's old high school coach a couple of years ago at the
ASU game in Jonesboro, and he told me their offense was designed to get Matt open for shots. Of course that was high school, and the basket is much higher in D1` ball then in high school. That's probably why we don't work very hard to get him open.
