WMU GameDay
I tried listened to some of the game before going to the MAC webcast.

It has NO sound. Ugh.

Priest is playing.

Curious about the rest.

RE: WMU GameDay
Gillett just scored on a sweep around end.

There was a lot of 'road grading' blocking going on. Wish I could have caught the OL player numbers.

This is getting to be a really great game to watch.

Gillett throws a beautiful TD pass to I think Burke.

Both defensive lines are playing like swiss cheeze.

RE: WMU GameDay
WRs are dropping too many balls.

Mitchell one, but Burke dropped two on the WMU side of the field.

Burke's drops might have cost up a FG or something.

RE: WMU GameDay
If EMU had even an average defense they might have 4 wins right now. WMU, Army, and Miami would have been wins. There'd better be 15 defensive players in next year's recruiting class.

RE: WMU GameDay
Typical game this season the offense scores points but the defense is very poor. By the way our OL allowed 5 sacks and our defensive line got none on WMU.

Really?

The offensive line was moving the WMU DL pretty good.

Stats say 3 sacks and all at the end of the game in obvious throwing situations

have to be careful with stats as Midwest suggests.

When a game is out of hand or getting that way, whatever happens then is kind of irrelevant.

I watched the webcast with the WMU announcers doing the play by play, they had a lot of comments about the EMU OL. WMU had to do a lot of blitzing in the 2nd half trying to contain the EMU offense.

I'm looking forward to a big game offensively vs. UB.

ESPN had five sacks and the EMU site has 4 sacks.

Steve most of your comments this year are about the offense but competely ignore the sad state of our defense which really hasn't improved since English's arrival. Guess that's why we're looking at JUCOs?

RE: WMU GameDay
I didn't watch the game, but followed the play by play at the end of the 1st half on my phone...
Did we really score at just under two minutes,
recover a fumble on the kickoff...
3 and out in 15 seconds...
punt...
recover a fumble again...
then throw an int...
All in under 2 minutes?

If so, that's the kind of stuff that frustrates me.........

RE: WMU GameDay
Gillett has improved this year there's no question about that although at the time the offense seems to shut down on its self either through penalities or turnovers or fumbles. That being said Gillett would get my vote as the most improved player on this team.

You are correct.

It is easy to describe what is going right this year and I believe even more so next year on offense.

I still say, and I hope I'm right, the offense is ONE upback away from being really dynamic. I assume the problem with red zone offense is the lack of a big blocking back to open holes.

I have no explaination for the defense...

I find it hard to follow defense in a real meaningful way. It is hard to tell where the breakdowns are occuring be it LB, safeties, CBs, etc. (lot of this has to do with complicated pass defenses, etc.).

It was easy to see the OL 'road grading' on the WMU DL.

Gillett is fun to watch. He knows how to pick his holes and no one gets a good shot at him (unlike Matthew Stafford who is always one hit away from leaving the game).

No sound for half the game and video kept going out so we kept WEMU radio on.
Burke, Brown and Priest were back in.
Nice little article about Ty http://www.mlive.com/broncos/index.ssf/2...incart_mrt
