Isn't it nice
to start the season with "This has possibilities" instead of "Oh no, here we go again."

RE: Isn't it nice
This was a good WIN for the Trojans. Beats the heck out of losing to Harding. Granted, SMU is no powerhouse in college sports but, it once was so there is name recognition. Same might be said for Bonaventure. Putting a good whipping on the Bonnies would help a lot. Maybe that's what the staff had in mind in putting together the schedule.

SMU fans and media had high hopes that this was going to be a turnaround year for Brad Dougherty. We crushed those pretty quickly. They are no power house, but were a mediocre team (7-9) in a relatively good conference, last season. Probably will be about the same this year. Beating a Conference USA team on the road was a good win for us. Didn't come close to a feat like that last season.

Dougherty was already counting this as a sure win before the game.
For a smart guy, that was pretty stupid. Any coach should know that you never assume you're going to beat anyone. The good ones always praise their opponents prior to the game, and even though you think you're going to beat this team by 50 points, you make them sound like Duke. Sometimes you can be too smart and not have a lot of common sense. Sounds like Doughterty fits that profile.04-cheers
