[split] UCF scores 115
Impressive considering WF went 11-14 last year, doesn't have a player over 6'8" and only has one senior.

That's a pretty typical Donnie Jones out of conference opponent actually.

Yes. Now that the evil, no-good Donnie Jones is gone it is nice to see Marshall has upgraded their schedule to play Kentucky, Duke, UCLA, Georgetown, and Syracuse.

Oh... wait... what's this? Marshall played an NAIA school tonight? One that was recently denied admission to NCAA Division II where UCF's opponent plays?

I was going to say - Hey Donnie probably scheduled that! In defense of Marshall.

Instead though, I say 04-cheers as I think Marshall is also still sucking on sour grapes from this hire. :muttering:

Either way, it made me laugh.

Last year everyone was raving about that Marshall team. Memphis (Memphis!) fans were saying how lucky they were to not play them again that year. Marshall fans loved the team. Now that he's left - DJones was a horrible coach who had an even worse team last year. 03-lmfao

RE: UCF scores 115
no, Donnie took a team that won 24 games, had an NBA center and a power forward who spent a lot of time in an NBA camp and couldn't win a first round game in the CUSA tourney and lost to Appy State in some crappy consolation post season tourney on his home court.

And yes, Donnie scheduled the WVTU game we played tonight. Also, for the record, I am not bitter that he went to UCF. I am glad he went to UCF.

If our fans think this years team is better than last years they are delusional. We lost 4 starters, most of our offense and defense. While we added some good looking players, they have not yet gelled, and it is an entirely new team out on the floor.

I had my problems with DJ (most notably the way he played these D-II and NAIA schools to blow up the stat book), but I wish him well. However, a lot of what you are hearing now you would have heard all around the Marshall program around the midpoint of the conference schedule, after the CUSA tournament and the CBI embarrassment. Some of it is sour grapes, and some of it is legitimate criticisms of his coaching style.

Oh, and let me guess since I didn't see your game - Donnie kept pressing them long after the game was already decided, correct? That's another part of his MO. He keeps full court pressure on lesser opponents under the guise of working on it for when he plays tougher teams. Problem is that he won't press tougher teams leaving the fans to wonder why he doesn't.
