Most likely perpetrated by some GT fan.

UGA isn't an easy school. They constantly score high ratings for their business school as well as others.

RE: Laughable Scores - Week 11
Quote:Sports of The Times; When Hiring a Coach, It Helps to Check His Past

It would have been wonderful to eavesdrop on the conversation back in 1999, when Dr. Michael F. Adams interviewed Jim Harrick for the job as basketball coach at the University of Georgia.

''So, Jim, what have you been up to since we knew each other at Pepperdine back in the 80's?'' Adams might have asked.

''Well, I hung around L.A. for a while and then I lived in Rhode Island for a while,'' Harrick could have replied. ''But now I miss the kids. I'd love to get back to academia.''

''I know what you mean,'' Adams might have said. ''I've been too busy reading doctorate papers the last few years and never got to open a newspaper or watch television. So I really haven't kept up on current events. But everything's all right with you, Jim?''

''Couldn't be better,'' Harrick would probably have told him.

Adams must have been too preoccupied to notice that his old colleague had essentially been run out on a rail from his last two jobs. Harrick won the 1995 national title at U.C.L.A., but he was given the bum's rush for falsifying expense accounts. Then he reached the Round of 8 at Rhode Island in 1998, yet he was eighty-sixed there for violations that now seem to be even worse than most people realized.

Looking for a soft spot to land, Harrick wound up at Georgia, but yesterday he was suspended with pay for dragging Georgia into a major scandal.

College presidents are supposed to be the fuddy-duddies who clean up the mess that football coaches, basketball coaches, boosters, agents and devious itinerant players create.

Adams, in fact, was a member of the Knight Commission on Intercollegiate Athletics, which, only two years ago, urged presidents to take back the control of big-time sports.

Taking control, Adams brought in a guy with a rep that stunk from Los Angeles to Kingston, R.I., a coach who would stockpile marginal people like Tony Cole and apparently come up with machinations to funnel them money, and send them off to accumulate bogus credits.

Cole was enrolled in an 8 a.m. class on ''Coaching Principles and Strategies of Basketball,'' apparently never showing up yet receiving an A from his instructor, whose name is Jim Harrick Jr. The younger Harrick was suspended without pay and his contract will not be renewed in June.

It will not do for Harrick Sr. to retaliate that Cole is a troubled manipulator who is followed by charges of sexual assaults, conflicts and financial disorder. Tony Cole is Jim Harrick's man, as much as Jim Harrick is Michael Adams's man. They all deserve each other.

You tell me. Was either Vick illiterate? Did either get A's for classes he never showed up to?

Don't know. The ACC is never in the spotlight because they're not a constant contender for the NC. If they were, we'd probably know more about'em.

How about this, who would get a job first, a law grad from UGA? Or a law grad from GT?

.....oh.....wait......

How about a person with a business degree from UGA as opposed to GT?

......oh.....wait.....

I sure wish Eli was as smart as Vick. I mean, how good could he have been if he'd have been smart enough to attend an ACC school like Vick. All I know is, well, the Eagles brought they A game.

GT does not offer a law program. They do however offer a business program, and it is indeed superior.

Perhaps you'd feel more comfortable taking this argument back to where it favors you? Namely 700 SAT people barely scraping through high school and being propped up their entire collegiate career (if not, you know, given huge amounts of cash outright) so that 1 to 5% of them can have a brief stint in the NFL. For the rest? Well there is always that Post Office position UGA's lawyers talked about ... or that Parks and Rec management program Masoli is taking advantage of at Ole Miss. (A post graduate degree no less!! HA!)

Yeah eli must be a genius. Instead of sliding, he falls forward and fumbles. That might not sound like a huge deal, but it's the second time he's done it! He's a brain dead piece of crap

You hear about the orange Corvette that Clemson bought Hershel Walker when he came to visit? He didn't sign, but kept the Vette. Hey, Clemson is in the ACC, right?

BTW Swoosh, you get your ass out there on that field with the best football players in the world...yes, world. NFL-Europe, CFL, Arena, UFL, ALL are stepping stones, and let's see what you do. You can't expect your team, the Giants, to win the f'n Superbowl every damn year.

Jesus tapdancin' Christ, you sound like a f'n LSU fan.

dude, what the hell is wrong with you? without the physical skills how am i gonna be able to play football? I didn't say eli wasn't talented. i said he's an idiot. I'm sure you've never criticized one of your team's players for making a completely boneheaded play. No, you're way above that. Gimme a break. When our, supposedly, cerebral QB makes one of the dumbest plays in the history of football (twice!), i'm gonna call him out for it. His idiotic mistakes were the biggest reasons for our loss. With millions of dollars comes criticism. Get over it!
