Bronco's smack the Spartans
It's amazing what a new Hockey coach can do for a long suffering fan base!!!! Down 2 goals to zip, the Broncos amped up the pressure and pulled out a hard fought 4-3 victory over the Michigan State Spartans. Great work coach B.

It may not be a "MAC" victory but I will take a MAC primary school over a Big 10 school so congrats to you. Now if Kent had a true NCAA hockey team.

RE: Bronco's smack the Spartans
Almost as an aside here, the MSU coach had said during the week that WMU is looking more and more like Miami in the way they play, and that is a big compliment. Thanks to Blashill's time at Miami as an asst., in little more than a month he already has started to change the mindset and playing style.

Blashill has said that he was excited to come to WMU as they have good facilities, a good fan base and great student section and Kalamazoo is a good hockey town. He felt that this was a place where he could make some noise nationally. It is one of the few sports where a MAC school can become a national power. Ask Miami people. The recognition a school can get with a great hockey team dwarfs our opportunities in most other sports (except Akron in soccer).

While I don't expect miracles or a huge turnaround in year 1 of his tenure, there are great signs that things are changing for the better for our long suffering hockey fans. Now, they need to complete the sweep tonight over MSU.
