Congratulations to the Big East and Big East fans
I'd just like to offer Congratulations to the Big East for moving forward with a plan. There has been much discussion, bantering, criticism, etc...about the Big East over the years on message boards such as this and in the media.

Much of the debate on this board has been positive and is extremely relevant now. I, personally, feel that I have better understanding of the situation because of this board.

Again, Congrats on making the move...no matter what happens, there will be some who are unhappy and potential criticism. But it appears to me that the Big East has a plan that all schools agree upon...we will have to wait and see what comes of it, but if they all agree, it must make sense for them in the long term.

Let's keep in mind that we should not generalize and take this opportunity to "put down" programs. The outcome will be decided by others when looking at all the numbers, there is no need to criticize through this process because the Big East members will do what they feel is in the best interests of the Big East members. Other potential candidates will move on.
