INGE NAMED MAN OF THE YEAR IN MLB PLAYERS CHOICE AWARDS
DETROIT, Mich. – It's been an exciting week for former Virginia Commonwealth University standout and current Detroit Tigers third baseman Brandon Inge. After receiving a two-year contract extension on Oct. 22, Inge on Friday was named Marvin Miller Man of the Year by his peers in the annual Major League Baseball Players Choice Awards. The award was announced on ESPN Radio's Mike & Mike in the Morning.

Inge, who was one of three finalists, received the honor for his contributions on the field and in the community. The former All-Star is heavily involved with charity work at C.S. Mott Children's Hospital in Ann Arbor, Mich., and is constantly recognized for his efforts in the Detroit area.
