New Trojan beat reporter
What was your impression of his first couple of articles? I thought he was pretty good. He should get even better with practice.

I'm with you, so far so good. Jeffrey is going to be a hard act to follow. Not enough body of work in yet to make a real judgment.

If he buys into the program and thinks of it as more than just a job, like Jeff did, he'll be fine.

That may be hard to do. I believe that Jeff became a real fan of the program. Many reporters don't, unless they are called to the court of the hogs to worship. I just hope that our new guy doesn't become to close to the coach to tell it like it is.

If he tells it like it is, he won't be privy to anything to report. Our beat reporter is paid to do just that. Report on the games and other items that paint the program in a positive light. He is not writing an opinion column, so don't expect any negativity concerning the coaches or players. And that's allright. That's the beauty of this message board. People can express their opinions if they wish. Hopefully most news will be positive this season.
