Fans need some of that patience too. But, like coaches, that's not their long suit.

Hope this is a case of under promising and over delivering. At any rate, it should be good to witness improvement over time.

Again, somewhat gratifying to hear my assessment kind of holds up. We got nothing underneath. With Mo we at least had a big body who got rebounds and was deveoping a competent post up game. None of the three bigs we have now (I'm counting JA as an outsized 3 here) have any collegiate experience- Dear appears to have a pretty big upside but he's a long way from being a big contributor. I would expect the odd game where he'll approach double figures in boards and have a few blocks, but more games where he picks up three fouls in five minutes. Russell has the great last name but none of the game. The walk-on, who's name escapes me right now, has apparently impressed Coach K but impressive as a walk-on doesn't equate to impressive as a player. Yet. Next year is a lon ways off but NMRF is correct- patience by the fans is gonna be a requirement. I still see 8-10 wins with a few of those in the MAC.

Being fundamentally sound is the quickest way to get back to winning ways in the MAC. I'll go out on a limb and say 10-12 wins.

I don't know, I think the transfer from UM (Anthony Wright 6-6 260) will adequately fill the void of M. Lo's departure... And, I agree that the program is one year away from achieving championship level success...

Speaking of Mo it was announced last night on one of local sports broadcasts that he is transferring to Fairleigh Dickinson after graduating next year. He will have one year of eligibility left and he will pursue a masters degree there.

Big key that Van Gundy pointed out "the talent level of the people eligible is not very good" That doesnt include the three guys that can play next year including the two Wisconsin Green Bay guys that Coach brought with him and the transfer from Iowa State. Other then that, the team is very young and it sounds like they will need to concentrate their efforts on ball control & defense. And take a lot of outside shots. Sounds like we will be weak on the inside game.

Yeah, this year will be a developmental year.

I do hope can we think about scoring, though.

I think Cross was getting paid under the table by Wendy's to keep those free frosties from happening. At Duke you get free food when you go over 100, we can't even get it for breaking 60!

Oh, I have no doubt that Cross was thinking about scoring.
