Good news for some UL fans that didn't get tix yet for this game...ticketmaster.com has some available now...along with the UL tix office.

This AM one could grab a seat in sec 104...near the 20-25 yd line.

Better seats might only be available in singles...check UL box office to see if you can grab 2 seats together (maybe returned tix from UCONN).

PS. Weather looks ok for Saturday too (High of 77 degrees, only 30% chance of showers).

Was it short sighted and financially irresponsible to only add the number of seats we did? Wouldn't it have been better and cheaper to add enough to get to the original 63,000 seats desired? When we want to expand in another seven years it'll just cost that much more due to inflation.

There possibly are some regrets there. I wasn't expecting to sell out most of the home games this first season.

On the other hand, you don't want tens of thousands of empty seats year after year, or even 15,000 empties every time you play a I-AA. The money is primarily being made with the increase in luxury seating and having some pent up demand is not a bad thing. We didn't start talk of this expansion until we had four figures on the season ticket waiting list while at 42,000 capacity.

The new upper deck seating is a good bridge for the program. Younger people, including recent grads who had student season tickets, were priced out of the market while at 42k. Now they can continue as season ticket holders for a very reasonable cost in the upper deck. You hope they have kids down the line who are raised as Cardinal fans and that they go on to higher income brackets and buy back into the lower deck in the future.

You also have a decent sized group of people in the city who may make less money or were too casual of fans currently to buy season tickets with a required athletic department donation included. You're opening up an opportunity now where they can buy into the program without too much financial stress on their family. That's how you build a large season ticket base.

RE: UConn-Louisville Football Game sold out (55,000)!
I've been to 3 games now, sitting on the visitor side for all three and not going to the home side to look at the visitors side....having said that all three games the home side has major pockets of empty seats throughout the whole side meanwhile it appears the visitor lower and and upper half appear full and much more excited. I am curious if any of you sit on the home side and the visitors side has just as many gaps of empty seats or is it more full than the home side? I

Are there more people from the home side in the B&W club than usual, at the party deck, or are protesting this year for getting screwed over in the new arena season ticket ordeal? Any thoughts there from fellow Card Fans?

UK fans bought a couple thousands of those seats, and the rest are basketball fans that buy them so they can get better YUM seats. They only show up games like Memphis, Cincinnati, West Virginia, Pitt or some other name teams. So some are empty, many or just some where else drinking beer. 03-phew

Its nice for all of them to show up but revenue wise for the DoIA the important thing is that all seats were sold.
