RE: Coaches Poll and AP Poll, 10.3.10
It's a popularity contest, and we're not popular. I'm not worried. The final poll is the one that counts, and WVU will be in the mix...

03-melodramatic Every team in the Big East has significant weaknesses. And we have all lost the games that count when being judge by the media. 03-phew

03-nutkick We eight football programs need to get our collective acts together, very soon! 04-rock

05-nono We need to be 12 in football with a championship game! 04-cheers

Actually, that's not going to solve the problem, you stated.

Twelve in football with a championship game will not help the BE with the wanna bees out there. The BE would have ranked teams at this point if they would have won their big OOC games. It is that simple. This is the BE year to lay an egg after the success we have had since 2003. Trouble with the BE situation is that as the perceived bottom feeder AQ conference the BE will take more flak with the OOC losses than the B-10, SEC, Pac-10, ACC, and B-12. The season is early but beating on each other the rest of the way will not help placing a team back in the top 25 unless one conference school runs the BE table. On the other side of the coin those ahead of the BE have to head into conference play too after beating up on cupcakes, and beat up on one another which will make room for some quality BE teams to be ranked again by the end of the season. 05-stirthepot 05-stirthepot 04-cheers

I don't think the coach's poll there has been updated. It still has Michigan State far below Wisconsin and I can't imagine Boise would still be that far above Oregon. Texas is too high too.

You were correct. CNNSI messed it up. I've edited the original post to reflect the correct Coaches poll.
