Rank the BE, Week 5
1. WVU - has its faults, but a prohibitive favorite IMO

2. UConn - finally starting to fuffil its promise, but defense still subpar
3. Pitt - a win over FIU would hardly excite me, but appears Wanny made the right moves
4. USF - new hire Holtz beginning to pay off
5. Cincinnati - good game vs. OU promising, but still 1-3, and have mistakes and injuries to contend with

6. Syracuse - proven nothing yet, but these are tough guys under Marone
7. Louisville - hadn't expected them to be competitive with the likes of Oregon State so quickly; Strong looking like a good hire

8. Rutgers - 2-2 (should probably be 1-3) against the easiest preseason schedule in the BE; Schiano's days numbered?

RE: Rank the BE, Week 5
WV - win over Terps - close loss to LSU.
Pitt - close loss to Utah -embarrassed by Miami - need to see if Miami is real.

Rutgers - defense is there - lost close ones to UNC and Tulane - drop Sanu / Tebowidist - open up the offense with Savage and get a field goal kicker - we'll be ok.

UCinn - nice comeback against Oklahoma - sleeper for conference play.

USF - taking wait and see for a couple of more weeks - looking steady under Holtz so far.

UConn - Buffalo / Vanderbilt wins offset by Temple and Michigan blowouts.

L'Ville - close games against Kentucky and Oregon State - close wins against weaker opponents.

Syracuse - whacked by Washington - beat up on Colgate, Maine, and Toledo. Winning the games they should win but not impressed with the competition.

Think of the mix, if add four more from TCU, Houston, Memphis, ECU, Temple, Nova, or Central Florida? 04-cheers

Wrong! There's one team that ain't blowing chunks. You better get that through your heads now... 05-mafia

WVU's defense is nationally ranked in several important categories...

#8 in total defense (ypg)
#10 in rushing defense (ypg)
#12 in scoring defense (ppg)...
#20 in passing defense (ypg)

The offense is doing too shabby either. WVU won't run into a defense the caliber of LSU's the rest of the season. So y'all best be ready... 05-mafia

You lost to that LSU team that barely got by Tennessee. You are not that much better than anyone else in the conference.

We're all going to find out soon enough, about everybody. That's the cool thing about plunging in to the conference schedule.

I'm glad USF got to play a tough OOC opponent on the road. Having played Florida in Gainesville, well we probably won't face anything worse in our coming games, and that experience might be of help going on the road in the Big East.

Nothing compares to LSU - and the only environment in The BEast that comes anywhere close to an SEC environment is WVU, and Milan Puskar is a pale shadow...

It ain't Gomer you got to worry about. It's Geno, and he's going to get better each week as he gains experience...

You'll find that out when it's your turn to play us... 05-mafia

We will find out soon enough. USF has done pretty darn well at Puskar and after playing at Gainesville wont be intimidated by it.
