There are other inconsistencies I see in what Sandiss has reported over the summer, but I'm trying to avoid really long posts. I will simply say that none of them necessarily mean his information isn't correct, just raising a yellow caution flag that while most posters here tend to view events through a BCS football school lens, Sandiss' info is being filtered through a "Georgetown lens" which, may or may not, have an impact on the interpretation of the events being reported.

Can you show where you gave it as something that is being discussed prior to Sandis? Wasn't your comments more in line with having a Nova and/or GTown moving up would make more sense.

Here are but just a few of the times I discussed Villanova moving up to the Big East in football prior to the dates you gave. It is also critical to note that several articles had previously come out about the subject before the dates you give.

JM: What Villanova has been able to do is phenomenal. Our people are very supportive of Villanova and encourage them to do everything they can to improve their program and move it forward. I don't think I can publicly get into any specifics, but I know our people have always been very supportive, as they were of Connecticut years ago, in encouraging Connecticut to do everything they've done. As you know, Connecticut does everything first class and they do it well, and I think people feel the same way about Villanova.

Again, after a relatively brief look here are just a few of the times I discussed Villanova as a candidate to move into the BE for football before Sandiss regurgitated what he was reading in the press with added mystery of course.

When I read his posts I can see some inconsistencies, but I surmise that a lot of it stems from there being so many competing interests at work in the Big East. It sounds like it is very hard to get all 16 members on the same page, so Villanova moving up is the one thing, the compromise, that they all have reached agreement upon.

You are right though; a careful reading of what he has said indicates Nova will not accept and will not move up. His posts also stated that TCU was not an option for the Big East; and if that is true then according to his posts it looks like a football only member is likely the Big East's next step. And a close reading of all his posts indicates the Big East is supposedly looking amongst a few specific schools, but the concern would be that a football only member would eventually want full membership. I will leave it at that, because Buckaroo might blow a gasket.

Seems that you ECU types are the ones blowing a gasket because your program isn't on the list. Keep making stuff up and attacking me though-much easier than dealing with reality.

I am not going to blow a gasket about this stuff. It is sports, not real life. And truthfully I doubt if you know what programs are on this "list" that you are talking about. In fact I doubt if there is even a list, because a list implies stuff like planning and contemplation. I am sorry, but the Big East just doesn't come off that way.
