That's another Minnesota......first down?
Following the Spann 61 yarder.... a mass exodus, not witnessed since the time of Moses...
After a couple first downs, it seemed as if the annoucer at the game hated announcing Minnesota first downs...,

Watching the game on TV, I suddenly noticed that the chairs in the stands were painted to spell out "MINNESOTA"

Hahahaha that was awesome. That's another Minnesota....and then nothing. Btw, did anybody else notice how lively our section was on Saturday night? It was pretty awesome.
Also, am I the only one who thinks those stories they were telling about Bronco Nagurski were made up?

Did you hear the one about Bronko Nagurski's bachelor party? He ate the entire cake before anyone could tell him there was a stripper in it.
Bronko Nagurski was a ten foot tall beastman who showered in vodka and fed his baby shrimp scampi.
In Bronko Nagurski's final season at Minnesota, the Gophers finished #1 in the AP Poll, and Bronko 18th.

RE: That's another Minnesota......first down?
There's a great book about Nagurski written by Jim Dent (the guy who wrote the Junction Boys). If I remember, he downplayed the plow story (though it's been told about him for decades).
Bronko was a running back and d-tackle for the Bears and was an absolute monster. He was almost like a modern football player playing against the little guys of the twenties and thirties. He came out of retirement I think during the war and with knees that were totally shot played guard for the Bears of the forties.
So, given the trends of the times, I'm sure some of that stuff was heavily embellished, but he was the most dominant player of that generation.

I think the best part of the Bronco Nagurski story is how he retired to International Falls, MN to run a gas station and be a fishing guide. International Falls is about as far away as you can get from anything in this country, and is traditionally the coldest American town in the lower 48.......

I'm just glad I'm not the only one who found those stories strange.
