We're averaging over 44K 03-woohoo

Won't last, because the rest of our games are at Nippert, but for now, 03-woohoo 03-woohoo 03-woohoo 03-woohoo

I guess it's all in the perspective. If WVU was averaging 44K, I'd be p!ssed... 07-coffee3

RE: Big East average attendance week 4
Well, yes, it does need to be kept in perspective. It wasn't too long ago it would take UC two or three games to have 44,000 total attendance. I think it's a major accomplishment and it was a great showing by UC fans last night, especially considering the way the team had played up until last night.

UC has continued to improve their average yearly attendance since joining the Big East. I thought that's what everyone wanted?

Good crowd at Paul Brown last night. Too bad Cincy could not close the deal and beat the Sooners though.

Appreciate it. When it comes to BCS schools, my standards should be 50k across the board. I understand that some schools in this league don't have stadiums that large yet. But at least we're growing. I have to give props to BYU's fanbase as well. Ya'll pack the stand better than alot of BCS schools.

RE: Big East average attendance week 4
Went to the USF game at Raymond James Stadium yesterday. It was nice. I can only gage my experience with what I have had at UofL games at Papa John's. The crowd seemed kind of tame. I'm not sure how many people were there. It was a nice event in a great stadium. They do a pretty nice job trying to make it look like the Bulls stadium vs. the Bucs. However the midfield logo and endzones leave much to be desired. My seat was awesome! Not only was it chair backed... but it was cushioned. Sweet! First class!

It's an NFL stadium so the amenities are first-rate. As for me, i envy Louisville for having your own stadium. There's no substitute for an on-campus stadium for creating the college football ambience.

A couple of early losses really puts a dent in your attendance average when your fans are mostly bandwagoners, coming to games only when the team is doing great - or expected to be very good. When that proves not to be the case, they stay home in droves...

Fair point.

I'll be honest, even I really don't want to go back to the games this season during that game Thusday night. I really don't blame those that don't return.

RE: Big East average attendance week 4
All things considered I am rather surprised at how strong the attendance numbers for Syracuse have been. The crowds, noise wise, have been rather poor but we are only missing around 10,000 fans a game. Put up a fight against USF and we could be looking at 45,000 for Pittsburgh.

RE: Big East average attendance week 4
Imagine SYR getting almost 38,000 in a down year (more like a down decade). WIth the Dome's capacity just under 50,000, if SYR could win a few games each year selling out the dome would be no problem. Central NY is hungry of Syr success. We are already second in the nation in BB attendance and under the circumstances, you have to admit people want to support our FB. BE FB does not look too tough this year. Hopefully SYR can manage to beat somebody and build on that for next year. I think we only need a buzz to open the floodgates and get some good recruits.

We got this BB recruiting thing on lock- we have got to get some good FB players- and we will.
