The word was all the rage LAST year by the young teen set, which kind of turns the comment back on you.

and you most definitely used it as a negative association.

1) negative reference.
2) out of date.
3) picking up the "cool" phrases from the kids.

three Dad violations.

tsk tsk.

I had no idea the word was all the rage last year for Miley or Hannah or whatever you want to say. That's pretty stupid......and no, I'm not saying the BG football team is stupid....or the song....or Miley....or Tom....

RE: Umm.....
I apologize if my use of the word gay offended anyone. It was not meant in an offensive way. Sometimes I talk like that, and don't really mean anything. Just like if someone tells me something and I don't like it, I might say "That's stupid." It doesn't mean it was actually stupid....just the way I talk sometimes. I think this society is getting too worried about offending people with things we say or do.

Again, I apologize if I offended anyone. That was not my intent.

I think we know that. We're just saying.. it's an "out of date" saying.

I always have a problem with calling people gay-don't understand why anyone feels the need to do it. That being said Tom, I didn't see your response when Falcon fans (Well, OK, its pretty much just Flipper) repeatedly use "gay" or "homo" or "pu**y" when referring to UT fans, coaches, etc. I'd love to see that kind of crap leave the boards for good, whether its from Flipper, Brian or whomever, but I doubt I'll live to see the day.

But the Miley Cyrus thing is pretty anti-everything I associate with football players.

Frankly...I'm surprised that you're stooping to this level. The only "gay" comments I've mad re UT was a QUOTATION of what was said by the BCSN announcers covering the UT/Temple game.

Thought you were better than that...guess I was wrong.

Public apology FWIW and its not worth much after the fact but its hard to apologize before the fact: I was absolutely wrong. Not sure why there was any need to post the Beckman thing at all, but I thought there was also a previous one to that effect on the MAC boards and didn't do my homework.

I finally got around to reading the Ay Piggly Wiggly post. Hilarious.

This year's version of "IT" is going to be like taking candy (literally) from a baby, (Mylie...)

RE: Umm.....
H2O...I shouldn't have brought the Beckman thing up in the first place...that was a mistake on my part. I also tend to use the term "candy ass" as a synonym for "soft", but I can see how a person could take that term to mean something else. I should choose my words a little more carefully...sorry about that.

Apologies to all for the above and the threadjack...I do think the Mily Cyrus thing is a bit curious...I prefer the Plasmatics "Masterplan" when working out, but I'm kinda old school.

I prefer the weird voices that occupy my head, but then those are the same voices that tell me to post stupid things that I regret shortly thereafter sometimes. 01-wingedeagle
