I sit on the west side, so it's harder for me to judge the west side crowd, but I took a bunch of pictures showing the east side, and there is no way there were more than even a few hundred on the east side.

Let me put it this way. Just to check myself, I just counted people in a photo that I took about a minute before the end of the first half (with EMU lined up for the field goal). I counted a TOTAL of 43 -- yes, forty-three -- people on the east side from the north 45-yardline to the end of the stands (my photo does not quite show the very top of the stands, so if anyone was up there I didn't count them, but I doubt that would be more than one or two people, if any). That's not an estimate, and it includes what appear to be three security/staff people standing at the top of the stairs near the 30-yard line. It also includes people standing at the entrances, and in the walkways as far back as can be seen. (If you don't believe me, I'll probably be posting some of these photos online tomorrow, and I'll try to remember to give you a link to that photo.)

Obviously most of the people sit in the very middle, but I think it's safe to say there were nowhere near 1,000 people on the east side.

Also, take a look at this photo showing the vast majority of the east side, and this one showing the prime seats a couple minutes later. Granted they are both during the pregame show, but they give a pretty good picture of how empty it was, and the second photo is shortly before kickoff.

That is the Ohio game and I agree there wasn't 200 people over there. The west side had 3,000 to 4,000 is my guess. The student section was was over half full.

Sorry, I thought in the posts yesterday and today we were talking about the Ohio game, which had a reported (tickets sold) attendance of just over 16,000.
