some preseason love
While I'm not sure I completely agree since we couldn't beat lip (or unf for that matter) last year, at least a couple of low profile sites think we'll do ok this year. One has been accurate in the past, the other doesn't know what our mascot is. Additionally, this league is getting better from top to bottom and we could be better than last year and still not win the league or go to the tourny. I've never liked being picked to win the league or go to the tourny though. At least the hoops talk is picking up.

We had DLU on the ropes at our place with a very young team and them having one of their best. I could easily see us being picked, though ETSU returns some good talent and so does DLU. The thing is that we should be much more consistent with our depth and more experience. We aren't clear favorities, or even favorites, but I wouldn't be shocked to see us sitting on top. We have a whole lot of pieces.

RE: some preseason love
Looking at last years final standings, Campbell, Belmont, Jacksonville, and DLU tied for first with ETSU one game back, and knowing that Belmont and DLU are bringing pretty much everyone back and ETSU is bringing everyone back plus getting Mike Smith playing again, it's a crap shoot. I say this because we are obviously not the clear cut champion of the ASUN because there is no clear cut team who is going to be head and shoulders above the rest. College coaches say the most significant change in a players game is between the freshman and sophomore year; if our team hit the gym hard this off season and comes out hungry... I like our chances

I think we all pretty much agree. I didn't mean to infer we had no chance, it is pretty clear the TN teams will be the favorites this year, and we certainly are included, it's just that we have to count on our younger players getting better in order to seriously contend for the title. I agree with Northside as well in that we do have a lot of potential and could be very good.

Does anyone think there is any chance we could go to a smaller faster lineup at times this year? Maybe Jenkins, Noack, Baker, House rotating through the 4-5 spots?
